Gina Ketcher, President-Elect

Gina joined the JLS in 2002. She went to her informational session when she was three days overdue with her first child—thankfully he was born in the next morning! Gina has a Bachelor’s degree in the Management Information Systems and a Masters of Business Administration. This background enabled her to excel in her role last year as Technology Chair. Gina feels strongly about setting an example of service to her children.  She is looking forward to helping others achieve their league goals this year, while preparing for her term as JLS president (June 1, 2010 through May 31, 2011). Gina and her husband Keith both graduated from the University of Oklahoma and are avid Oklahoma football fans. They live in Curtis Park with their two boys, Clayton and Sam.

Carol Shellenberger, Administrative VP

Carol joined the JLS in 2003 to volunteer, serve the community, and meet new people. This is her third year on the Board of Directors. Carol hopes to set an example for her nieces and show the importance of getting involved in our community. "I have taken on roles that involved areas outside my comfort zone, and this experience has added to my personal and professional skills," Carol says. She works as the operations manager for the State of California Department of General Services, where she manages the State's vehicle fleet. Carol and her husband Dean live in Sacramento.

Rosalind Knight, Communications VP

Roz, as we call her, joined the JLS in 2007. During her provisional year, she stepped up and helped the PR/Marketing Committee with her graphic design projects. She just completed her term as PR/Marketing Chair and is now geared up to be part of the Board of Directors as Communications VP. Roz grew up in Santa Rosa and after graduating from college, lived in Colorado for 10 years. Her friends inspired her to join the Junior League after moving back to California in 2006. Roz has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing from CSU Sacramento and owns her own graphic design company, RMK Design Group. Roz and her husband Jim have one daughter, Hailey, and two dogs, Chester and Chelsea. The Knight family lives in Lincoln.

Wendy Buckley-Stokes, Community Programs VP

Wendy joined the league in 2003 to reach out to those less fortunate in the community. Her role is to oversee community program activities, which she believes is the heart and soul of the Junior League. Although she is very passionate about all of the programs, her favorite is Kids in the Kitchen. In 2008-2009, she was chosen as Active (member) of the Year for her role in this program that empowers children to make healthy choices to fight childhood obesity. Wendy has a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Science and Education from Cal Poly State University San Luis Obispo. She is a fourth generation California farmer specializing in wine grapes and cherries, and handles all of the sales and marketing of her family’s cherries. She has also served as president of the PTO and School Site Council for her children’s schools. She lives in Lodi with her husband Mike and their two children, Elainee and Jacob.

Kia Kapci, Finance VP

Kia ignited her passion for managing finances at the University of Arizona, where she was Finance VP for Delta Gamma Sorority, while obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Business with a focus in entrepreneurship. She then moved to Chicago where she worked for a private client wealth management firm, and now helps people invest their money in real estate as a realtor for Lyon Real Estate. Her role as finance development VP is to help drive the league's fundraising efforts to non-event based fundraising, including corporate donations, the Annual Fund, grants, community program sponsorships, and in-kind donations. “The JLS is a supportive and welcoming environment to both volunteer my time and learn how I can contribute my skills to needed programs throughout the Sacramento region,” Kia says. “I plan to utilize the league’s training and education to stay actively involved in community programs for a lifetime.”

Amy Wister, Fundraising VP

Amy is serving her third term on the JLS Board of Directors, and she credits the league for giving her friendships, a sense of community involvement, leadership training and life lessons. Her role is to oversee our event-based fundraising, including Wine & Dine 'til Nine, Crab Feed, Family Fun Fest and the JLS Celebrate cookbook. She has also served in multiple leadership roles as a member of the 20-30 Club of Greater Sacramento and the Tri Delta alumni chapter.
