Junior League of Sacramento Names Renee Friedrich President for 2015-2016

El Dorado Hills resident Renee Friedrich has been named President of the Junior League of Sacramento (JLS) for the 2015 – 2016 year. Friedrich will serve as President during the 73rd term of JLS and lead the organization of more than 700 women forward in fulfilling the mission of JLS.


Junior League of Sacramento Receives $25,000 Grant for Children's Theatre Program            

Junior League of Sacramento (JLS) is the recipient of a $25,000 grant from The RCA Community Fund of the Sacramento Region Community Foundation to be used for JLS’s longest running community program -- Children’s Theatre.  Established in 1939, Children’s Theatre provides access to live musical theatre at no cost for local children that might not otherwise have access to live theatre arts. The grant will be used to provide busing for more than 18,000 children to see the 2013 performances. Read More Here.


Junior League of Sacramento Names Laurie Chavez Powers President for 2014-2015                

Laurie Chavez Powers, has been named President of the Junior League of Sacramento (JLS) for the 2014 – 2015 year.  Powers will serve as the seventy-second president. As Junior League President, Powers will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the organization and will preside over all Board meetings, General Meetings and Board trainings. She will also represent the Sacramento League at the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI) conferences and is the voting delegate at the annual meeting.  Read More Here.


Junior League of Sacramento Names Amanda Merz President for 2013 - 2014

Roseville resident, Amanda Merz, has been named President of the Junior League of Sacramento (JLS) for the 2013 – 2014 year.  Merz will serve as President during the 71st term of JLS and lead the organization of more than 700 women forward in fulfilling the mission of JLS.  Merz will serve her term after current President Amy Wister (2011-2012) and President Elect Aimee Gillum (2012-2013).  Click here to read the article.


The Junior Leagues' Support Across the State Seen as Critical on Key Women's Health Issue.  The Junior Leagues of California's State Public Affairs Committee (SPAC), working with Assembly Member Pedro Nava (D-Santa Barbara), sponsored Assembly Concurrent Resolution 105 (ACR 105) to designate each May as "Perinatal Depression Awareness Month" in California. The bill received tremendous bi-partisan support and has passed both the Assembly and Senate. Click here to read the article.
