Empowering Sacramento Through Decades of Service
For over 80 years, the Junior League of Sacramento (JLS) has been a catalyst for positive change in the Sacramento region. Through strategic partnerships, hands-on volunteerism, and targeted community investments, JLS has supported a wide range of programs that uplift women, children, and families.
Below is a snapshot of the organizations and initiatives we’ve proudly partnered with or supported—many of which continue to thrive today thanks to the foundation laid by our members.
Health & Human Services
- Yolo County Food Bank – Ongoing support of basic needs
- Soil Born Farms – Educational farm to empower people to participate in their local food systems
- Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services – Ongoing support for hunger relief
- Crisis Nursery – Providing safe spaces for children in crisis
- Sacramento Hospice Consortium – Compassionate end-of-life care
- Next Move Homeless Services – Formerly Sacramento Area Emergency Housing Center
- Yolo Crisis Center – Crisis intervention and support services
- Safe Harbor – Providing transitional housing to families experiencing homelessness
- Shriners Children’s Hospital Northern California – Proving free specialty pediatric care and family support
Youth & Family Support
- Fairytale Town & Sacramento Zoo (Founder) – Enriching childhood experiences through play and learning
- Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento – Safe haven for children in crisis
- Boys & Girls Clubs (Raley & Teichert Branches) – Hosted “Kids in the Kitchen” nutrition education programs
Arts, Culture & Education
- Crocker Art Museum – Supported docent programs and cataloging efforts
- Sacramento History Museum – Helped launch the Old Sacramento Docents Program and educational materials
- SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity (formerly Discovery Museum) – Supported early science education
- Sacramento Children’s Museum – Promoting hands-on learning for young children
Civic Engagement & Advocacy
- Sacramento Region Community Foundation – Longstanding philanthropic partner and endowment steward
- State Public Affairs Committee (CalSPAC) – Advocating with all 17 California Junior Leagues for policies that support women and children
- Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) – Supporting children in the foster care system
Legacy Projects
- Old Sacramento Revitalization – JLS played a key role in restoring the Old Eagle Theatre and developing educational materials for the district
- Nonprofit Resource Center (now The Impact Foundry) – Helped build capacity for local nonprofits
- Stanford Settlement Neighborhood Center – Longtime partner in community development
