Two shining examples of this legacy are Fairytale Town and the Sacramento Region Community Foundation—both of which were founded or significantly supported by JLS in their earliest days.

Fairytale Town: Where Imagination Comes to Life

Located in William Land Park, Fairytale Town has been a magical destination for generations of Sacramento families. Opened in 1959, this nonprofit storybook park was created to inspire imagination, creativity, and learning through play.

JLS’s Role:
The Junior League of Sacramento played a foundational role in the creation and early development of Fairytale Town. League members helped raise funds, design exhibits, and promote the park as a community resource for early childhood enrichment.

Sacramento Region Community Foundation: Philanthropy in Action

Founded in 1983 with support from the Junior League of Sacramento, the Sacramento Region Community Foundation (SRCF) has become a pillar of regional philanthropy, managing charitable funds and supporting nonprofits across four counties. JLS was a founding partner in establishing the Foundation, recognizing the need for a long-term, sustainable vehicle for community investment. The League’s own Endowment Fund is managed by SRCF, ensuring that JLS’s mission continues to thrive for generations.
