Junior League of Sacramento

Through the generosity of individual donors, the Junior League of Sacramento (JLS) Annual Fund provides essential support to our programs, training and operational costs. The Annual Fund gives donors the opportunity to contribute directly to the our programs and other support needs.  Regardless of the amount, your contribution makes a difference and is tax deductible to the extent the law allows.

1.  Junior League Programs
The JLS has been serving the Sacramento area for over 65 years! We are proud to have originated or assisted hundreds of local non-profits, agencies and community programs in our area! Please click here to see the a list.

2.  Sacramento Children's Museum/Signature Project
The Sacramento Children’s Museum (SCM) was founded in 2004. The museum is the vision of two teachers who saw the need for inspiring learning through interactivity. The Junior League of Sacramento connected with the SCM as a founding partner.  The SCM seeks to build an environment that makes learning exciting and enriching for children and their families through exploration and hands-on activities.  The Sacramento Children’s Museum strongly believes that play is an essential part of a child’s “work”.  Imaginative, hands-on environments provide children with a gateway for opening their minds to developing new abilities, building confidence, and making connections between their dreams and their real world experiences.  With the support of the Junior League and its donors the Sacramento Children's Museum plans to open Summer 2010!

3.  Training/Education
Developing trained leaders and volunteers, equipped to respond creatively to society's challenges, is part of the Junior League purpose.  Our training committee is responsible for developing, coordinating and implementing membership training sessions that cover a broad range of topics.  This year's member training opportunities include an Introduction to Product Management, Leadership Training, Facilitator Training, Rock Climbing, Financial Literacy for Women, and the State Public Affairs Committee's Day at the Capitol.  Our members have the chance to attend as many training sessions as they would like.

4.  Greatest Need of the Junior League
Junior League members pay dues that go directly to the general support of the League (i.e. building, equipment, utilities, payroll, website support, supplies, etc).  A portion of the dues payment also goes to the Association of Junior Leagues International for overall training and support.  Donations to the Greatest Need are directed by the JLS Board of Directors, to the area within the League that has a specific requirement.
